This self-cross of ‘DocBlock Brielle®’ (’16’) features a modest-sized green leaf with beautifully contrasting silver veins. Its full-grown leaf size only reaches 6″ in width by 9″ in length, making it a more practical size for nicely lit kitchen windowsills! The new leaves are green, allowing this hybrid to present beautifully as groups in tropical landscapes where it will quickly generate vegetative offshoot growths. ‘DocBlock Brielle’ has a noteworthy receptive flower in that Dr. Block has detected a distinctive scent of cloves… unique among anthuriums. The pollen parent is Anthurium ‘Black Widow’… a rare Anthurium bred by Dr. Block through multiple filial generations. He selected from among thousands of seedlings and placed his primary emphasis on darker new emerging leaves that display silver veins with clean longitudinal lines resembling a spider’s legs!
