Vigorous distinctive ever-deepening color selections were bred from a mid-late 1980’s cutting accession of a unique Anthurium magnificum attributable to Miami’s Tim Anderson of Daisy Farms, Inc. Decades later, the emerging round leaves have evolved into Anthurium ‘Michelle® through multiple generations of breeding to ensure more burgundy-violet hues with violet petioles.

‘Michelle’ has now been bred with Anthurium ‘Red Velvet Cake®’. They boast the velvety reflective sheens of “next-generation” DocBlock Anthuriums that are quite beautiful to behold!  It’s a personal favorite from among several “next-generation” velvet leaf Anthuriums that are currently under development.  Pollen derived from this gorgeous, tear-drop shaped leaf mother plant already appear to express similar color traits along with the vigor of the seed parent, ‘Michelle®’.
