Seed Parent: This large crystallinum is a cultivar that was sold by Logee’s Greenhouses as Anthurium “Crystal” (aka ‘8’) many years ago. DocBlock nurtured “Crystal” for many years before entering it for competition to win 2012’s “Best in Show” at the Miami Tropical Fern and Exotic Rare Plant Show.

As a physician healer, the doctor has also been intrigued by the verso (back) side of these hybrids’ leaves… and he has often commented about how these hybrids’ fascinating veins reminds him of circulating blood! Red is a very strong color – and its color is associated with both fire… and blood!
